Shortly before going on vacation I renewed my M365 Certified: Messaging Administrator Associate certification. There were no additional costs.
Today I got this mail from Microsoft:

The next renewal is located in 2024 😉
So now I can start vacation with a complete certification profile. If you did not go on vacation enjoy your time, see you soon.
